Most of the places of interest at the Tioman Island are located in the Tekek village. The airplanes land in this village and the majority of the important buildings, such as the police station, the hospital, the offices of the local authorities, the government offices and the mosque can be found here. For interested tourists, the village also offers trekking options between Tekek village and Juara village. There are some beautiful waterfalls which acts an incentive for many tourists to go for this trekking. For the purpose of trekking it is recommended that tourists carry with them a bottle of potable water, a towel, camera and swim suits. Also recommended are insect repellent solutions. The highest mountain on Tioman Island is the Kajang Mountain. The Mentawak River flows from this mountain and it makes the scenario all the more picture perfect. Furthermore, the best beach of the Tioman Island, Kampung Juara is also very close to this mountain. Tioman Island has many exciting things to offer to those who enjoy water related activities.
